Rated R (aka DJ Richie Rich)

Born and raised in Augusta Georgia, Rich Williamson a.k.a. DJ Richie Rich discovered his passion for dance music in the mid '80s. He would listen intensely as the DJs would mix the best of urban and freestyle music back to back and beat to beat every weekend on local radio legend WFXA, Foxy 103. Teaching himself, Rich soon began mixing and scratching for many audiences all over the CSRA. He became particularly fond of the freestyle craze of the late '80s and early '90s including classics like Marrs' "Pump Up The Volume" and dance diva Debbie Deb's "Lookout Weekend."

At age fifteen, he managed to save enough money to purchase his first set of turntables, the industry standard still today, a pair of Technics SL 1200's. At age 17, he began appearing as a guest DJ in various clubs even before he was old enough to attend them legally. In late 1997, Rich landed his first residency in a commercial nightclub, Time Piecez, where he honed his skills and cultivated his own style. A few years later, he left and began a new residency at one of the top night spots in the area... Last Call.

While continuing to pack the dance floors of the greater Augusta area, he teams up with Augusta favorites DJ Tim and on-air radio personality Steve Matthews of Clear Channel's WZNY, Y105 to broadcast the ground-breaking Friday afternoon drive-time mix show dubbed the "Friday Flashback." Mixing live for two hours every Friday afternoon, Rich and Tim along with the host Steve Matthews brought back the hits of the '80s and '90s and fused them with the hits of today.

Not only is DJ Richie Rich an accomplished nightclub DJ, he has also an accomplished music producer. In 1997, under the alias DJ Neutron, Rich released his first collaborative record "Prepare to Reactivate" co-produced by DJ Hydraulic. Since then, he released over twenty singles on such labels as Xquizit, Funk Wax, Breaklogix and Uniscope. And many dance remixes for major musical artist such as New Edition, Tears for Fears, DJ Magic Mike, Luke Skywalker and Bass Mekanik. These and many other accomplishments have earned DJ Richie Rich a spot among the best DJs in the South.
